Serenity card art
Serenity clears every artifact and enchantment from the battlefield at the beginning of your next upkeep — a delayed Purify stapled to an enchantment that your opponents can see coming. The catch is the delay: anything that counts as an enchantment with Enchanted Evening on board turns that one-turn window into a game-ending trap, but in fair configurations Serenity is a symmetrical reset button, not a one-sided weapon.

oathbreaker

In Commander, Serenity occupies a narrow but real niche: it's a budget answer to enchantress and artifact combo tables, and it doubles as a win condition in Enchanted Evening shells where everything on the board becomes an enchantment the moment the trigger resolves. Legacy has the permanent-speed interaction tools to abuse or neutralize Serenity before the upkeep arrives, limiting its play to fringe combo setups rather than mainboard removal. Vintage is too fast for a one-turn-delayed sweeper to matter outside of dedicated combo. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander's dynamic — Serenity is fine in the 58 but rarely a build-around outside the Enchanted Evening axis.

Price Context

Current price

$2.76 cheap tier

At $2.76, Serenity sits in the cheap tier — low enough to include speculatively, high enough that its niche role doesn't make it an auto-add. The price is stable given how narrow the competitive demand is, but Enchanted Evening combo lists keep a floor under it.
