Restoration Angel card art
Restoration Angel enters, flickers a non-Angel creature you control, and leaves you with a 3/4 flier — all at instant speed for four mana. The floor is a combat trick that resets a creature's ETB; the ceiling, with Felidar Guardian, is an infinite loop that wins on the spot, and Ranar the Ever-Watchful turns every flicker trigger into a free 1/1 Spirit.

Ranar the Ever-Watchful

Ranar the Ever-Watchful

69.9% of decks · synergy 0.61

Ranar the Ever-Watchful rewards every flicker with a free 1/1 Spirit token, so Restoration Angel entering at end of opponents' turns generates an army while also protecting a key creature from removal.

02

Aang, at the Crossroads

61.6% of decks · synergy 0.59

Aang, at the Crossroads accumulates counters and value off creatures entering the battlefield, making Restoration Angel a repeatable engine piece that resets ETBs while advancing Aang's own power.

Abdel Adrian, Gorion's WardCandlekeep Sage

Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward // Candlekeep Sage

68.3% of decks · synergy 0.59

Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward // Candlekeep Sage blinks permanents as a core mechanic, and Restoration Angel fits cleanly into that shell as an instant-speed way to protect Abdel or generate another wave of exiled-then-returned permanents.

04
Yorion, Sky Nomad

Yorion, Sky Nomad

68.1% of decks · synergy 0.59

Yorion, Sky Nomad builds around mass-flicker payoffs, and Restoration Angel doubles as both a standalone ETB reset and a flash threat that keeps the engine running at opponents' end steps.

05
Preston, the Vanisher

Preston, the Vanisher

60.7% of decks · synergy 0.53

Preston, the Vanisher creates Illusion tokens whenever a non-token creature phases out or blinks, so Restoration Angel turns a single flicker into two bodies and a refreshed ETB.

oathbreaker

Restoration Angel is a Legacy and Modern staple that has defined midrange strategies for years — in Modern especially, pairing it with Felidar Guardian or Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker has been a legitimate combo threat. In Commander, it pulls triple duty as a protection piece, an ETB engine, and a combo enabler, which explains its deep penetration into flicker-focused builds across every color pairing that runs white. Legacy sees it less now that the format has accelerated, but the card is still perfectly functional there. Pioneer and Standard players are out of luck — Restoration Angel never made it into those card pools.

Price Context

Current price

$0.48 bulk tier

At $0.48, Restoration Angel is outright bulk despite its tournament pedigree and combo ceiling — heavy reprinting has kept the price floor low and shows no sign of reversing. It's one of the best value pickups in white for any blink or ETB deck: maximum impact, minimum cost.
