Yorion, Sky Nomad enters the battlefield and immediately blinks every other nonland permanent you control — that's a mass enters-the-battlefield trigger engine stapled to a 4/5 flyer. The cost is five mana and a companion requirement that only matters outside Commander, which makes it a clean include in any deck that wants to reset its own permanents.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | banned |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Yorion, Sky Nomad carries one restriction worth knowing: as a companion, it requires your deck to have at least 20 cards more than the minimum — 80 in formats with a 60-card floor, 120 in Commander. Commander gives it a complete pass on that restriction because you're already running 100 cards and most pilots use Yorion as a mainboard creature rather than a companion, so the deckbuilding tax never applies. It's legal in Legacy, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker for the same reason decks there can opt into the companion restriction or simply run it in the 60. Modern is the exception — Yorion was banned there after proving the 80-card cost was no cost at all for the value it generated.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Roon of the Hidden Realm
Roon of the Hidden Realm and Yorion, Sky Nomad are doing the same job — both flicker your permanents for value — and running both means your blink triggers stack every turn. Yorion's mass reset is a natural complement to Roon's targeted blink, giving the deck redundancy and a board-wide payoff when Roon can't do it fast enough alone.

Ranar the Ever-Watchful
Ranar the Ever-Watchful creates a 1/1 Spirit token every time a nontoken permanent is flickered, so Yorion, Sky Nomad landing on a stacked board can produce a fleet of tokens in a single trigger. That combination turns Yorion from a value piece into a token engine that immediately pressures opponents.

Aminatou, the Fateshifter
Aminatou, the Fateshifter's minus ability flickers any permanent you control, and Yorion, Sky Nomad gives the deck a way to reset everything at once when Aminatou's incremental blinks aren't enough. The two cards share the same resource loop — reset ETB triggers, rebuild advantage — and Yorion covers the board-wide version Aminatou can't do alone.

Brago, King Eternal
Brago, King Eternal already wins games by blinking permanents on combat damage, and Yorion, Sky Nomad gives that deck a backup mass-flicker that doesn't require Brago to connect. When Brago gets chumped or removed, Yorion keeps the ETB engine running.

Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward // Candlekeep Sage
Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward // Candlekeep Sage exiles your own permanents as part of its enter-the-battlefield effect, so replaying it via Yorion, Sky Nomad re-triggers the mass exile-and-return for another wave of tokens and value. Yorion essentially lets Abdel Adrian loop its own ability at instant speed when flickered at the right moment.
