Myr Turbine card art
Myr Turbine puts a free 1/1 Myr on the board every turn and lets your tapped Myrs search up any Myr from your library — that's a token factory and a tutor stapled to one artifact. The five-mana cost is real, but in Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch decks especially, Clock of Omens makes the tap cost functionally free while the engine runs.

Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

75.2% of decks · synergy 0.73

Myr Turbine is an auto-include in Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch — it produces the Myr tokens Urtet needs to untap each turn, and the tutor mode fetches whatever specific Myr the combo line is missing.

02
Arcum Dagsson

Arcum Dagsson

28.3% of decks · synergy 0.28

Arcum Dagsson wants cheap artifact creatures to sacrifice, and Myr Turbine produces them on demand; the tutor mode also lets you find a Myr to feed Arcum immediately rather than waiting on draws.

The Capitoline Triad

The Capitoline Triad

15.9% of decks · synergy 0.13

The Capitoline Triad rewards artifact-creature density, and Myr Turbine both adds to that count and tutors up whichever Myr piece the board state demands.

Format Analysis

oathbreaker

Commander is where Myr Turbine actually lives — five mana is acceptable in a 40-life multiplayer format, and the combination of repeatable token production and a library-searching tap ability is worth a slot in any serious Myr tribal or artifact-combo shell. In Legacy and Vintage, five mana for a tap-to-make-a-1/1 effect doesn't compete; those formats move too fast and have better artifact tutors. Modern is technically legal but practically irrelevant — Myr Turbine has never found a home there. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-life format where it could occasionally appear in artifact-centric builds, but the card sees almost no play outside Commander.

Budget Alternatives

Cheaper options that do most of the same work

If Myr Turbine is out of budget or redundancy is the goal, Myr Reservoir recurs Myrs from the graveyard rather than tutoring from the library — it costs a fraction of the price and covers a different angle of the same engine. Myr Matrix is a closer functional substitute, producing 1/1 Myr tokens repeatedly, though it lacks the tutor mode that makes Myr Turbine uniquely powerful in combo-oriented builds.

Price Context

Current price

$6.27 mid tier

At $6.27, Myr Turbine sits in the mid tier — expensive enough to feel like a deliberate include, cheap enough that it's not a budget breaker for a dedicated Myr deck. Given its near-lock status in Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch lists and its narrow demand ceiling, the price is stable rather than poised to climb.
