Multiform Wonder threatens lethal from nowhere — pump energy into lifelink, flying, or first strike on the same turn it enters, and it demands an answer immediately. The cost is real: five mana for a 3/3 base with no built-in energy means it relies on a dedicated energy shell to do anything. Outside that shell, Isshin, Two Heavens as One and similar attack-trigger decks get the most mileage, but it still needs the fuel.

Multiform Wonder is a Commander card almost by definition — the energy economy it demands is hard to sustain in 60-card formats where you're not building an entire deck around the resource. In Modern and Pioneer it sees essentially no play; energy matters decks there prefer payoffs with immediate, game-ending impact rather than a 3/3 that requires ongoing investment. Legacy and Vintage have no interest at all — five mana buys far more powerful effects. Commander is where it belongs: energy synergy commanders give it a reliable fuel source, the longer game lets you accumulate and spend energy meaningfully, and the keyword flexibility is genuinely useful when board states shift from combat race to defensive stand in a single turn.

Pricing data for Multiform Wonder isn't available at the moment, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a current figure. Given its narrow energy-specific role and low competitive demand outside Commander, it has historically sat in budget territory — worth picking up if you're building the right shell, but not a card to chase at a premium.
