Morningtide exiles every creature in every graveyard when it resolves — graveyards that took the entire game to fill, gone in one instant for three mana. It's a surgical reset button, and its primary home is as a kill condition alongside Immortal Coil, which loses the game for any player whose graveyard hits zero cards.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |

| vintage | legal |

Commander is where Morningtide actually sees play, almost exclusively as a combo piece rather than a standalone graveyard-hate spell — three mana to exile all creature cards is fine, but it's not good enough on its own to justify a slot when Tormod's Crypt and Soul-Guide Lantern cost less and hit more. In Legacy and Vintage, Morningtide is technically legal but sees effectively no play; those formats have faster, cheaper disruption and the Immortal Coil package isn't competitive there. Oathbreaker is the one fringe format where the combo has a real home, since the lower life totals and the command zone make assembling a two-card kill more consistent.

Current price
$0.40 bulk tier
At $0.40, Morningtide is firmly bulk — low demand from a narrow combo application keeps it there. That price is stable; it won't spike unless the Immortal Coil combo breaks into a mainstream competitive shell, which hasn't happened in years.
