Mindleech Ghoul hits the board as a 4/3 menace that forces an opponent to exile the top card of their library whenever it deals combat damage — and you may cast that card for free. The payoff is real, but seven mana for a creature that dies to any removal before it connects makes Rooftop Storm the only shell where the cost becomes truly negligible.

Mindleech Ghoul is a Commander card through and through — the format's longer games give it the time it needs to connect, and multiplayer tables mean each hit could reveal a bomb from any opponent's library. In Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer, seven mana for a creature with no immediate impact and no protection is simply unplayable; every format with counterspells and efficient removal makes this a liability before it ever attacks. Pauper is the one outlier where its common printing matters, but seven mana is still a death sentence in an aggressive format. Stick to Commander, and specifically to Zombie tribal shells where Rooftop Storm turns the cost to zero.

$0.15 bulk tier
At $0.15, Mindleech Ghoul is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a draft chaff box rather than buy. It won't appreciate; the casual ceiling for a seven-mana situational payoff is low, and supply is abundant.
