Mightstone's Animation is a Commander card first and foremost — the card draw on cast and the resilient 4/4 body both scale well in a format where value over multiple turns matters more than raw efficiency. In Pauper it's legal but slow for a format that punishes five-mana do-nothings, and the common artifact-creature synergies there rarely want to spend this much on a single threat. Modern and Legacy have far more efficient ways to animate artifacts or generate card advantage, so Mightstone's Animation doesn't register competitively there. Stick to Commander or Oathbreaker, where the slower clock lets you extract full value from both halves.
