The cost is that she needs other pieces to go infinite, which is exactly why she's a staple in Emiel the Blessed and Gandalf the White lists rather than a standalone.

In Modern and Legacy she's technically legal but competes with faster, more resilient recursion that doesn't require a flicker partner to generate real value. Pioneer offers a narrower pool of alternatives, but the same problem applies: three toughness and a passive trigger don't clear the bar in competitive non-rotating formats. Stick to Commander.
