In Commander, Kinbinding is a role-player, not a staple — it earns its slot specifically in decks that reward exiling permanents or need cheap, permanent removal with a minor upside attached. In 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, it doesn't compete with Path to Exile or Prismatic Ending, which do more for the same or less mana without the conditional text.
