Frogify card art
Frogify turns any creature into a 1/1 blue Frog with no abilities — commander included — for two mana as an enchantment, meaning it sticks unless answered. In Grolnok, the Omnivore builds it's pulling double duty: removal that also stocks the graveyard with a Frog subtype trigger waiting to happen.

Best Commanders

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Grolnok, the Omnivore

Grolnok, the Omnivore

65.2% of decks · synergy 0.62

Grolnok, the Omnivore runs Frogify in over 65% of decks because it simultaneously neuters a threat and puts a Frog permanent on the stack, feeding the croak counter engine that lets the deck cast spells off the top.

02
Tatsunari, Toad Rider

Tatsunari, Toad Rider

48.7% of decks · synergy 0.47

Tatsunari, Toad Rider wants every Frog it can find, and Frogify delivers one on demand while also stripping abilities from whatever was blocking the token beatdown plan.

03
Clement, the Worrywort

Clement, the Worrywort

49.0% of decks · synergy 0.46

Clement, the Worrywort cares about small creatures entering and leaving, so Frogify converting a 6/6 fatty into a 1/1 Frog creates a new piece Clement can exploit while the original threat sits neutralized.

04
Charix, the Raging Isle

Charix, the Raging Isle

13.9% of decks · synergy 0.13

Charix, the Raging Isle decks are blue Crab-tribal adjacent and lean on the coastal creature type space; Frogify earns its slot here as cheap, on-theme removal that keeps the creature-type flavor intact.

05
Alela, Artful Provocateur

Alela, Artful Provocateur

11.1% of decks · synergy 0.10

Alela, Artful Provocateur lists that include Frogify are using it as low-cost enchantment density — Alela triggers off enchantments entering, so Frogify killing a blocker while generating a Faerie token is a two-for-one in context.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict
commander
legacy
modern
pioneer
standard
vintage
pauper
oathbreaker

Frogify is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it earns real play in almost none of them outside Commander. In Pauper it's a legal option at common, but two mana for a Pacifism-style effect that leaves a 1/1 body behind is too slow and too soft when Snuff Out and Journey to Nowhere exist at the same price point or cheaper. In Modern and Pioneer the same problem applies — enchantment-based removal that doesn't exile and leaves a chump blocker is unplayable when the format clears threats with Fatal Push. Commander is where Frogify lives: the frog tribal synergies with Grolnok, the Omnivore and Tatsunari, Toad Rider make it a genuine role-player rather than a fallback, and the enchantment subtype matters in decks that care about it.

$0.22 bulk tier

At $0.22, Frogify is bulk — pick it up without thinking. It won't appreciate meaningfully, but it doesn't need to; it's a role-player you grab for a quarter and forget about.
