Echocasting Symposium lets you copy spells as they're cast, generating immediate value the turn it hits the table — the payoff is real. The catch is that getting full mileage requires a deck built around high-impact instants and sorceries, and commanders like Hidetsugu and Kairi or Phage the Untouchable show exactly how degenerate those copies can get.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Hidetsugu and Kairi
Hidetsugu and Kairi already wants to cast expensive blue spells and trigger on-cast effects, so Echocasting Symposium doubling those spells means twice the triggers and twice the library manipulation — the engine compounds fast.

Iroh, Grand Lotus
Iroh, Grand Lotus rewards casting instants and sorceries with incremental value, and Echocasting Symposium turns every qualifying spell into two triggers, accelerating Iroh's snowball substantially.

Kellan, the Kid
Kellan, the Kid cares about casting noncreature spells to grow and push through damage, so Echocasting Symposium doubling those spells means more counters and more pressure from a single card.

Sakashima of a Thousand Faces // Vial Smasher the Fierce
Vial Smasher the Fierce deals damage whenever you cast your first spell each turn, but Echocasting Symposium's copies can bypass that restriction and squeeze additional damage out of the same resources, giving Sakashima of a Thousand Faces // Vial Smasher the Fierce a meaningful damage multiplier.

Cynette, Jelly Drover
Cynette, Jelly Drover generates Food and creature tokens off spell-casting triggers, and Echocasting Symposium doubling spell counts means roughly double the token output per turn cycle.

Commander is where Echocasting Symposium does its best work — the singleton format rewards enchantments that function as persistent engines, and the longer game gives this card time to generate the lopsided value it's designed to create. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, five-mana enchantments that don't win immediately face a steep clock, and the copy effect, while powerful, is too slow to compete with what those formats demand. Legacy and Vintage have access to broken enough spell suites that the card is theoretically interesting, but there are cheaper and more reliable ways to achieve similar effects. Standard is the one competitive context where Echocasting Symposium might carve out a niche, assuming the supported spell suite is strong enough to justify the mana investment.

Pricing data for Echocasting Symposium isn't currently available, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the most accurate real-time listings. Given its combo ceiling in Commander, demand from spell-slinger builds could push the price meaningfully if the card finds a foothold in popular decks.
