Five mana is the full cost of that swing, and the Super State rules text confirms you keep the creature even if the aura is removed, though Bruna, Light of Alabaster makes the equip cost effectively zero by tutoring it directly onto a creature from the graveyard or hand.

Commander is where Corrupted Conscience does its best work: the multiplayer table means a stolen threat with infect can threaten a poison kill against whichever opponent is most advanced, and five mana is trivially reached by mid-game. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but purely a curiosity — Control Magic effects at five mana don't compete with the format's tempo demands, and infect as a win condition is far more efficiently pursued with dedicated infect creatures. Oathbreaker gives it a niche home in infect-themed builds where the planeswalker-as-commander structure makes the signature-spell slot a natural fit for a haymaker aura.
