Chandra, Flamecaller enters and immediately threatens to end the game — a zero-loyalty-cost wrath on one ability, a wheel on another, and direct damage on a third, all stapled to a six-mana planeswalker. The cost is real: six mana is a lot to ask, and unlike Chandra, Torch of Defiance or Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh, she doesn't accelerate toward herself. You're paying for an immediate, often game-warping effect, not a long-term engine.

Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh
Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh flips into a planeswalker via combat damage and mana abilities, and a Chandra superfriends or planeswalker-tribal shell wants Chandra, Flamecaller as both a board reset and an anthem target — 77% inclusion in these decks reflects how cleanly she fits as a top-end finisher in that strategy.

Brallin, Skyshark Rider // Shabraz, the Skyshark
Brallin, Skyshark Rider // Shabraz, the Skyshark rewards wheel effects with direct damage and counters, so Chandra, Flamecaller's wheel ability becomes an immediate threat trigger that pumps both sharks and pings opponents simultaneously.

In Commander, Chandra, Flamecaller occupies a specific niche: a red board wipe that also refills your hand, which is a rare combination for a color that struggles with card advantage. The six-mana cost fits comfortably in midrange red or Izzet decks that aren't on a fast combo clock, and the planeswalker type matters for superfriends lists. In competitive non-rotating formats like Legacy and Vintage, six mana is simply too slow — there's no realistic shell where she's the right tool. Pioneer is similar; red decks there either end the game before turn six or want more linear threats. Oathbreaker is her most interesting non-Commander home, where she can serve as the signature spell for a Chandra planeswalker commander and immediately reshape the board on resolution.

Pricing data isn't currently available for Chandra, Flamecaller, so check Scryfall or your preferred vendor for the latest. She's an older mythic with multiple printings, which historically keeps her accessible — worth picking up if you're building a red control or superfriends shell and find her at a reasonable price.
