Champion of Lambholt turns every creature entering your battlefield into a soft Overrun — once the counters stack, your whole board becomes unblockable. The three-mana body is the cost, and it's worth it: engines like Animation Module that generate tokens on the side and commanders like Chishiro, the Shattered Blade that flood the board with countered creatures make Champion of Lambholt absurdly easy to grow.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Chishiro, the Shattered Blade
Chishiro, the Shattered Blade creates a +1/+1 counter token whenever an aura or equipment enters, and every one of those triggers grows Champion of Lambholt — turning a token-generating value engine into a board-wide unblockable threat simultaneously.

Kyler, Sigardian Emissary
Kyler, Sigardian Emissary pumps every Human you control, and Champion of Lambholt is a Human that gets bigger with every Human that enters — the two abilities compound until your entire team is both large and unblockable.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress
Ezuri, Claw of Progress converts experience counters into +1/+1 counters on any creature at will, and dropping those counters on Champion of Lambholt means every creature in your deck can swing through without a blocker in the way.

Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener
Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener proliferates counters on combat damage, and Champion of Lambholt accumulates +1/+1 counters fast enough that Bright-Palm's attacks become a self-reinforcing loop of growth and unblockability.

Halana and Alena, Partners
Halana and Alena, Partners distribute +1/+1 counters to hasty creatures on entry, and routing those counters to Champion of Lambholt immediately means the first attack of every turn threatens to punch through the entire opposing board.

Commander is where Champion of Lambholt lives — 100-card singleton formats give it the critical mass of token producers and counter synergies it needs to reach the threshold where your team becomes unblockable, and the long games give it time to snowball. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes with a powered card pool that simply answers a three-mana 1/1 before it does anything relevant. Modern has enough interaction to keep it off the competitive map, though casual Modern tables could find use for it in a +1/+1 counter shell. Champion of Lambholt is a Commander card at heart — build around it there.

$4.02 cheap tier
At $4.02, Champion of Lambholt sits in the cheap tier and is easy to justify for any counter or token deck in Commander. The price has staying power given its consistent inclusion across Simic, Selesnya, and Temur commanders — it's not a card that rotates out of favor easily.
