Bloodline Necromancer enters the battlefield and immediately returns a Vampire or Wizard from your graveyard to the battlefield — that's a two-for-one stapled to a body. The cost is a five-mana 3/3 with no evasion, which is a real ask, but in Inalla, Archmage Ritualist decks the eminence trigger copies it for one mana and you get the ETB twice, making the rate absurd.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Inalla, Archmage Ritualist
Bloodline Necromancer is one of Inalla, Archmage Ritualist's premier combo pieces — the eminence copy triggers the ETB a second time, letting you chain recursive loops that can generate infinite mana or drain the table with the right graveyard setup.

Strefan, Maurer Progenitor
Strefan, Maurer Progenitor plays Bloodline Necromancer as a recursion engine that doubles as a Vampire body, keeping your best threats alive while feeding the blood token and reanimation gameplan Strefan wants.

Clavileño, First of the Blessed
Clavileño, First of the Blessed turns every dying Vampire into a draw trigger, and Bloodline Necromancer keeps pulling those Vampires back, creating a recursive loop of card advantage and tribal pressure.

Evelyn, the Covetous
Evelyn, the Covetous exiles cards from opponents' libraries and wants a critical mass of Vampires entering the battlefield to chain those exiled cards; Bloodline Necromancer provides a reusable ETB that keeps the engine turning.

Olivia, Crimson Bride
Olivia, Crimson Bride's reanimation requires a legendary Vampire in play to keep creatures on the battlefield — Bloodline Necromancer fills both roles as a recursive piece and a Vampire that supports Olivia's graveyard strategy.

Bloodline Necromancer is a Commander card through and through — the five-mana cost is acceptable at a 100-card singleton table where games go long and tribal synergies compound, and the Vampire/Wizard dual typing plugs into the two most popular tribe commanders in black. In Legacy and Vintage, where it's technically legal, no competitive deck wants a vanilla 3/3 for five with a conditional ETB when faster, cheaper options exist. Oathbreaker follows similar logic to Commander at smaller scale, and any Vampire or Wizard oathbreaker with a graveyard subtheme will find Bloodline Necromancer pulling its weight.
