Bösium Strip lets you cast spells from your graveyard as though they were in your hand — once per turn, and only the top card — which is narrow enough that most decks ignore it and exactly broken enough that Orvar, the All-Form turns it into a value engine. The setup cost is real: you need a stocked graveyard and a way to keep the top card relevant, but in the right shell it's a repeatable recursion engine for three mana.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Bösium Strip is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but its home is Commander — the long game and graveyard-heavy strategies make the once-per-turn restriction feel like a feature rather than a handicap. In Legacy and Vintage, it's simply too slow and too conditional; those formats want graveyard recursion that operates at instant speed or scales beyond a single card per turn, and Bösium Strip does neither. Oathbreaker can support it in the right shell, but the 20-life clock makes grinding through your graveyard card-by-card a losing race. Stick to Commander.

Current price
$3.67 cheap tier
At $3.67, Bösium Strip sits in the cheap tier — low enough to include speculatively in any graveyard-matters build without meaningful budget friction. It's a narrow card with a loyal niche audience, so the price is stable rather than climbing; don't expect it to spike, but don't expect it to drop either.
