Aligned Heart drops onto the battlefield and immediately makes your team's base power and toughness equal to the highest among them — a floor-raising effect that punishes opponents who try to chump or trade down. It's a build-around enchantment that only earns its slot under Alisaie Leveilleur // Alphinaud Leveilleur and similar commanders that want every creature to punch at the same weight class.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Alisaie Leveilleur // Alphinaud Leveilleur
Alisaie Leveilleur // Alphinaud Leveilleur is the home for Aligned Heart — the commander explicitly rewards fielding multiple creature types and buffs creatures sharing types, so leveling up every creature's base stats through Aligned Heart compounds those bonuses across the whole board.

Shiko and Narset, Unified
Shiko and Narset, Unified cares about creatures acting in concert, and Aligned Heart turns a board of mixed-stat bodies into a uniformly threatening army that trades up rather than down.

Elsha, Threefold Master
Elsha, Threefold Master wants to go wide with multiple creature types and reward attacking, so Aligned Heart filling in the stat floor on smaller creatures means Elsha's combat-oriented game plan loses far fewer bodies to blocks.

The Archimandrite
The Archimandrite helms a multitype creature strategy where weak bodies are an inherent liability, and Aligned Heart directly patches that weakness by equalizing base stats across the team.

Narset, Enlightened Exile
Narset, Enlightened Exile rewards noncreature spell synergies, but the creature-heavy builds that run Aligned Heart use it to ensure the attacking creatures Narset wants swinging aren't blanked by larger blockers.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Aligned Heart is a Commander card through and through — it's legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but the effect only scales meaningfully when you control a wide board of creatures with divergent stats, a condition that shows up almost exclusively in Commander games. In Legacy and Vintage, the card does nothing in the fast combo or tempo shells that define those formats, and you'll never see it there outside of a joke. Commander is the format to evaluate it in, specifically the creature-type-tribal and go-wide builds that can actually exploit the stat-equalization effect. Oathbreaker could theoretically support it in the right aggressive shell, but the smaller deck size and faster game pace make it a long shot outside dedicated synergy builds.

Price Context
Current price
$1.48 cheap tier
At $1.48, Aligned Heart sits firmly in budget territory — cheap enough to slot in without hesitation if the synergy is there. The price is unlikely to move much given its narrow application, so buy it if you need it and don't worry about the timing.
