Kenrith, the Returned King + Smothering Tithe + Parallel Lives + Xorn

4-card combo · WUBRG

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop decks out opponents to death on demand, as long as they can't or won't pay the Smothering Tithe tax.

Kenrith, the Returned King's 3U ability forces an opponent to draw; Smothering Tithe triggers on that draw, and with both Parallel Lives and Xorn on the battlefield, each trigger produces four Treasure tokens instead of one — exactly enough to fund the next activation. The combo runs on self-sustaining mana and sits in a 5-color Kenrith shell that already wants all four pieces for separate reasons.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

An opponent cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger. Eventually the opponent will lose the game due to drawing from an empty library. You can repeat this loop with other opponents that also cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Kenrith's fourth ability by paying {3}{U}, causing an opponent who cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger to draw a card.
  2. Smothering Tithe triggers, causing you to create four Treasure tokens due to Parallel Lives and Xorn.
  3. Activate the Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding {3}{U}.
  4. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite draw triggers for any number of opponents; Infinite card draw for any number of opponents

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The loop collapses immediately if any targeted opponent pays the 2 for Smothering Tithe, so running Grand Abolisher or Silence to lock opponents off mana during the combo turn is standard insurance. Replacing Parallel Lives with Anointed Procession does the same doubling work in white and is easier to tutor in a WUBRG shell — either doubler plus Xorn hits the four-token threshold.
