Kenrith, the Returned King + Smothering Tithe + Mondrak, Glory Dominus + Anointed Procession

4-card combo · WUBRG

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop forces opponents to draw their libraries empty by turning Smothering Tithe's trigger into a self-funding engine.

Kenrith, the Returned King's 3U activated ability makes an opponent draw a card; if that opponent can't pay the Smothering Tithe tax, the trigger creates a Treasure — doubled by Anointed Procession and doubled again by Mondrak, Glory Dominus to produce four total. Those four Treasures pay exactly 3U to activate Kenrith again, making the loop free and repeatable until the target's library is gone. This lives in 5-color Kenrith goodstuff shells that already want Smothering Tithe and token doublers as standalone value pieces.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

An opponent cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger. Eventually the opponent will lose the game due to drawing from an empty library. You can repeat this loop with other opponents that also cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Kenrith's fourth ability by paying {3}{U}, causing an opponent who cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger to draw a card.
  2. Smothering Tithe triggers, causing you to create four Treasure tokens due to Anointed Procession and Mondrak.
  3. Activate the Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding {3}{U}.
  4. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite draw triggers for any number of opponents; Infinite card draw for any number of opponents

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The loop collapses if either Anointed Procession or Mondrak is removed — a single doubler produces only two Treasures, which is one short of the activation cost. Academy Manufactor replaces one of the doublers if the shell runs Food or Clue tokens alongside Treasures, but that requires a separate setup. The combo mills opponents out rather than dealing damage, so a Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac in hand closes out any opponent who finds a way to empty their own library first.
