Rootha, Mercurial Artist + Jeska's Will + Storm-Kiln Artist + Tidal Barracuda

4-card combo · UR

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop exiles the entire library and generates infinite storm count in a Izzet shell that was already casting Jeska's Will anyway.

Storm-Kiln Artist turns each Jeska's Will cast and copy into a Treasure, and Rootha bounces itself to hand by paying 2 and generating a copy of the Will along the way — each iteration nets enough red mana to recast Rootha for 1UR and repeat indefinitely. Tidal Barracuda is the enabling oddity: it lets Rootha's activation happen while Jeska's Will is on the stack, which is the window the whole loop depends on. The payoff isn't just mana — resolving enough Will copies exiles the library and grants play-until-end-of-turn, so the kill is built in.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

An opponent has four or more cards in hand. If you control a commander, you can choose both of Jeska's Will's modes if desired.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Jeska's Will by paying {2}{R}.
  2. Storm-Kiln Artist triggers, creating a Treasure token.
  3. Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding {1}.
  4. Holding priority, activate Rootha by paying {2} and returning it from the battlefield to your hand, copying Jeska's Will.
  5. Storm-Kiln Artist triggers, creating a Treasure token.
  6. Resolve the Jeska's Will copy, adding at least {R}{R}{R}{R}.
  7. Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding {U}.
  8. Cast Rootha by paying {1}{U}{R}.
  9. Repeat from step 4.

03

Result

Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite storm count; Infinite red mana; Infinite magecraft triggers; Exile your library with the ability to play the exiled cards until end of turn

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The loop collapses without Tidal Barracuda since Rootha's copy ability requires instant speed, making that slot non-negotiable. Storm-Kiln Artist is the mana bridge; without it the loop is mana-negative and dead in the water, so don't audition replacements there either. If infinite storm count is the primary goal, any storm payoff already in the deck — Thousand-Year Storm, Grapeshot — closes the game before the library even needs to be touched.
