Faerie Mastermind + Smothering Tithe + Nyxbloom Ancient

3-card combo · GWU

Verdict

Yes — this 3-card loop generates infinite draws and near-infinite mana in any Bant shell that can field all three permanents simultaneously.

Faerie Mastermind's activated ability forces a draw for each player; Smothering Tithe punishes opponents who don't pay the 2 white by creating Treasure tokens, and Nyxbloom Ancient triples each Treasure's output so two tokens cover the 3U activation cost with blue mana to spare. The loop depends entirely on at least two opponents skipping Smothering Tithe's tax — if one pays, the math collapses unless a third opponent is also non-paying.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have at least two opponents who are unable to pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Faerie Mastermind by paying {3}{U}, causing each player to draw a card.
  2. Smothering Tithe triggers for each opponent you have, creating at least two Treasure tokens.
  3. Activate two Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding {3}{U}{U}{U} due to Nyxbloom Ancient.
  4. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite card draw for all players; Infinite draw triggers for all players; Near-infinite Treasure tokens; Near-infinite colored mana; Near-infinite colorless mana

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The combo is real but brittle: opponents who hold countermeasures or simply pay the 2 white each draw break the loop immediately. Smothering Tithe has overlap with any white value commander, but Nyxbloom Ancient is a six-mana green creature with no redundancy here — if it's removed, the engine dies with it. Add Thassa's Oracle or Blue Sun's Zenith as a closer, since infinite draw mills every player without a dedicated sink.
