Pitiless Plunderer + Eternal Witness + Mitotic Slime + Nethroi, Apex of Death + Viscera Seer

5-card combo · WBG

Verdict

Yes — this Nethroi mutate loop generates infinite mana, infinite death triggers, and infinite scry from five pieces in a Abzan shell.

Nethroi, Apex of Death mutates onto any non-Human creature, then gets immediately sacrificed to Viscera Seer before its reanimation trigger resolves; Eternal Witness returns Nethroi to hand, Mitotic Slime cascades into Ooze tokens, and Pitiless Plunderer converts every death into Treasure that funds the next mutate cast. The loop is self-sustaining because Mitotic Slime's token chain generates enough sacrifice fodder to produce the exact mana Nethroi costs each iteration. Nethroi reanimation decks are the natural home — the combo runs through the command zone, so the commander itself is always accessible.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You control at least one non-Human creature.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Nethroi either from your hand or from the command zone for its mutate cost by paying {4}{G/W}{B}{B} plus commander tax, if applicable, putting it on top of a non-Human creature you control.
  2. When Nethroi enters the battlefield, it triggers.
  3. Holding priority, activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Nethroi.
  4. When Nethroi dies, Pitiless Plunderer triggers, creating a Treasure artifact token.
  5. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability, causing you to scry 1.
  6. Resolve the Nethroi trigger from step 2, returning Eternal Witness and Mitotic Slime from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  7. When Eternal Witness enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Nethroi from your graveyard to your hand.
  8. Activate Viscera Seer twice by sacrificing Eternal Witness and Mitotic Slime.
  9. When Eternal Witness and Mitotic Slime die, Pitiless Plunderer triggers twice and Mitotic Slime triggers once.
  10. Resolve both Pitiless Plunderer triggers, creating two Treasure artifact tokens.
  11. Resolve the Mitotic Slime trigger, creating two 2/2 Ooze creature tokens.
  12. Resolve both Viscera Seer abilities, causing you to scry 1 twice.
  13. Activate Viscera Seer twice by sacrificing two Oozes.
  14. When the Oozes die, they each trigger and Pitiless Plunderer triggers twice.
  15. Resolve both Pitiless Plunderer triggers, creating two Treasure artifact tokens.
  16. Resolve both Ooze triggers, creating four 1/1 Ooze creature tokens.
  17. Resolve both Viscera Seer abilities, causing you to scry 1 twice.
  18. Activate Viscera Seer twice by sacrificing two Oozes.
  19. When the Oozes die, Pitiless Plunderer triggers twice, creating two Treasure artifact tokens.
  20. Resolve both Viscera Seer abilities, causing you to scry 1 twice.
  21. Activate the seven Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding {4}{G/W}{B}{B}.
  22. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite colored mana; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite death triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite LTB; Infinite sacrifice triggers; Infinite scry 1; Infinite storm count; Infinite Treasure tokens

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The loop demands all five pieces and collapses if any one is removed; Eternal Witness is the linchpin, so a Containment Priest on the board shuts it entirely since the reanimation is not casting. Village Rites or Altar of Dementia can replace Viscera Seer if scry is irrelevant — any free sac outlet works — but the mana math requires Pitiless Plunderer to stay intact. Infinite mana closes with any X-spell win condition already in the Nethroi pile, such as Torment of Hailfire or Finale of Devastation.
