- Activate Five Hundred Year Diary by tapping it, adding at least .
- Activate Mind Over Matter by discarding Eternal Witness.
- Hashaton triggers, causing you to pay to create a tapped token copy of Eternal Witness that is a 4/4 Zombie.
- When the Eternal Witness token enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Eternal Witness from your graveyard to your hand.
- Resolve the Mind Over Matter ability, untapping Five Hundred Year Diary.

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Eternal Witness is the only recursive enabler here — no direct swap exists without rebuilding the loop around a different discard-recur target like Skullwinder, which lacks the same clean ETB text. The loop produces infinite tokens but no direct damage; close with Altar of Dementia to mill tables out, or Zulaport Cutthroat to drain on each token ETB — the engine floods the board, you need a payoff to convert.
