Ghostly Flicker + Mystic Sanctuary + Notorious Throng + Eternal Witness

4-card combo · GU

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop chains Notorious Throng into infinite extra turns through a Ghostly Flicker reset that costs nothing but a connected Rogue each cycle.

Notorious Throng's prowl condition does the heavy lifting: dealing combat damage with an unblockable Rogue triggers the extra-turn clause, and Ghostly Flicker blinking Mystic Sanctuary alongside Eternal Witness reloads both Ghostly Flicker and Notorious Throng from the graveyard on the spot. The prerequisite is real work — four Islands, an evasive Rogue, and all four pieces assembled — so this lives in Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow and dedicated Rogue-tribal shells that already want those pieces independently.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You control a Rogue that does not have summoning sickness and that cannot be blocked by an opponent. You control at least four Islands.

02

Steps

  1. Deal combat damage to an opponent using a Rogue.
  2. Activate Mystic Sanctuary by tapping it, adding {U}.
  3. Cast Notorious Throng by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  4. Cast Ghostly Flicker by paying {2}{U}, blinking Mystic Sanctuary and Eternal Witness.
  5. When Eternal Witness and Mystic Sanctuary enter the battlefield, they trigger.
  6. Resolve the Eternal Witness trigger, returning Ghostly Flicker from your graveyard to your hand.
  7. Resolve the Mystic Sanctuary trigger, putting Notorious Throng from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
  8. Move to your next turn, drawing Notorious Throng during your draw step.
  9. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite turns; Skip your draw steps; Lock

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Archaeomancer or Salvager of Secrets can replace Eternal Witness as the Ghostly Flicker recursor if green is off the table, though both cost more mana per loop. Any unblockable Rogue closes the evasion gap — Invisible Stalker, Changeling Outcast, or a Commander-granted evasion effect all satisfy the combat-damage trigger without needing additional support.
