Extravagant Replication triggers at the start of each upkeep to clone Eternal Witness, which immediately returns Notorious Throng from the graveyard to hand. As long as an unblockable Rogue connects, the prowl cost on Notorious Throng stays at 5U, and the loop restarts the following turn. This fits naturally in a Rogue-tribal shell built around evasive creatures — Anowon, the Ruin Thief is the obvious commander, since it provides both the Rogue synergy and draw to find the pieces.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You control a Rogue that does not have summoning sickness and that cannot be blocked by an opponent.

02

Steps

  1. Deal combat damage to an opponent using a Rogue
  2. Cast Notorious Throng for its prowl cost by paying {5}{U}, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  3. Move to your next turn.
  4. At the beginning of your upkeep, Extravagant Replication triggers, creating a token copy of Eternal Witness.
  5. When the Eternal Witness token enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Notorious Throng from your graveyard to your hand.
  6. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite turns; Lock

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any Rogue with built-in unblockability handles the damage prerequisite — Fallen Shinobi, Faerie Vandal, and Zareth San, the Trickster all qualify. If Extravagant Replication is removed, there is no clean two-card substitute that rebuilds the loop; the combo is dependent on that enchantment staying on the table, so redundant protection like Counterspell or Vanishing is worth including.
