Ephemerate can substitute for a single blink but breaks the loop's self-sustaining structure; the combo wants Possessed Skaab specifically because it recurs Deflecting Swat on ETB. Run Worldly Tutor, Eladamri's Call, and Entomb to assemble the non-commander pieces — the five-card requirement means redundancy in the tutor package matters more than redundancy in the pieces themselves.
