Scholar of the Ages is both the engine and the retriever: Undying Malice guarantees it returns from the graveyard with a +1/+1 counter, and its ETB puts Undying Malice and Dark Ritual back in hand to restart the loop. Viscera Seer is the free sacrifice outlet that keeps the cycle turning, tacking on Scry 1 every iteration as the table watches the stack grow.

Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Any free sacrifice outlet slots in for Viscera Seer — Carrion Feeder, Altar of Dementia, and Phyrexian Altar all work, with Altar converting the infinite black mana into any color. Scholar of the Ages is irreplaceable here, but once mana goes infinite the loop already recovers every instant and sorcery from the bin, so a Thassa's Oracle or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries sitting anywhere in the deck is the natural closer.
