Dark Ritual recurs each cycle via Skullwinder's ETB trigger, netting mana to sustain the engine indefinitely once it starts. The combo lives in Grixis-adjacent graveyard shells — Grenzo himself is often the commander, and the loop turns his activated ability into a lethal engine.

How it works

Prerequisites

Grenzo has power 2 or greater. Once you have infinite mana, you may activate Grenzo's ability any number of times.

Steps

Cast Dark Ritual by paying , adding .
Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Skullwinder, adding one mana of any color.
When Skullwinder dies, The Cauldron of Eternity triggers, putting Skullwinder from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
Activate Grenzo by paying , putting Skullwinder from the bottom of your library into your graveyard, and then putting it onto the battlefield.
When Skullwinder enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Dark Ritual from your graveyard to your hand and causing an opponent to return a card to their hand from their graveyard.
Repeat.
