The engine cycles Greenwarden of Murasa through sacrifice, The Cauldron of Eternity's bottom-of-library replacement, and Grenzo's flip ability, with Dark Ritual returning to hand each loop via Greenwarden's ETB trigger to fund the next Grenzo activation. Phyrexian Altar converts each sacrifice into the colored mana that bridges the 2-mana cost of each Grenzo activation. This lives in Jund-identity graveyard-recursion shells — Grenzo himself is the commander, so every piece is in-house.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Grenzo has power 2 or greater.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Dark Ritual by paying {B}, adding {B}{B}{B}.
  2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Greenwarden of Murasa, adding one mana of any color.
  3. When Greenwarden of Murasa dies, The Cauldron of Eternity triggers, putting Greenwarden of Murasa from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
  4. Activate Grenzo by paying {2}, putting Greenwarden of Murasa from the bottom of your library into your graveyard, and then putting it onto the battlefield.
  5. When Greenwarden of Murasa enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Dark Ritual from your graveyard to your hand.
  6. Repeat.
  7. Once you have infinite mana, you may activate Grenzo's ability any number of times.

03

Result

Infinite colored mana; Infinite death triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite LTB; Infinite magecraft triggers; Infinite sacrifice triggers; Infinite storm count; Put a selection of creature cards from your library onto the battlefield

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The five-piece count is steep; the first cuts to examine are whether redundant sac outlets like Ashnod's Altar can replace Phyrexian Altar, since the loop only requires generating enough mana each cycle to pay the 2. Once infinite mana is established, use the remaining Grenzo activations to deploy every creature in the library — Walking Ballista or Murderous Redcap is the natural closer already likely sitting in the Grenzo pile.
