Karn's Bastion proliferates for 4 mana; Doubling Season doubles the counters placed, so a single activation puts two charge counters on Lost Jitte and two +1/+1 counters on Cryptic Trilobite instead of one each. Cryptic Trilobite converts those two +1/+1 counters into 4 colorless mana restricted to ability costs, Lost Jitte spends one charge counter to untap Karn's Bastion, and the loop restarts with mana to spare. The green counter-synergy shell — Atraxa, Praetors' Voice, Ezuri, Claw of Progress, Hamza, Guardian of Arashin — already wants all four of these cards for reasons outside the combo.

Steps

Activate Cryptic Trilobite's first ability twice by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, adding that can only be spent to activate abilities.
Activate Lost Jitte by removing a charge counter from it, untapping Karn's Bastion.
Repeat.

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Without Doubling Season the loop breaks: proliferate adds exactly one counter to each, which means Cryptic Trilobite only produces 2 mana and can't fund a 4-cost activation, so Doubling Season is not replaceable here. The engine produces infinite proliferate triggers but needs a payoff already on the battlefield — Planeswalkers with ultimates, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire, or a creature with lethal power growth all close the game once the loop is live.
