3-card combo · GUR

Verdict

Yes — this 3-card loop generates infinite ETB and LTB triggers and infinite storm count as long as a payoff is already on the battlefield.

Cowardice returns any creature targeted by a spell or ability to its owner's hand; equipping Lightning Greaves costs zero mana and targets Burning-Tree Emissary, which triggers Cowardice and bounces it straight back. Burning-Tree Emissary refunds its own casting cost in red and green on entry, making every iteration free and repeatable. The engine slots into any Temur shell that runs a storm payoff or an ETB doubler — Aetherflux Reservoir or Purphoros, God of the Forge close from wherever this assembles.

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Cowardice is the hardest piece to replace — there is no clean functional substitute for the enchantment, so protecting it matters more than any redundancy plan. Any equipment with a zero equip cost works in place of Lightning Greaves; Swiftfoot Boots does not substitute because its equip costs one. If Burning-Tree Emissary is unavailable, there is no straight swap — the combo depends on that exact mana refund.
