Jegantha, the Wellspring taps for one of each color, which exactly pays Horde of Notions's activated ability to recast it from the graveyard; Ashnod's Altar converts the sacrifice into two colorless, netting mana on every loop. Lightning Greaves at zero equip cost removes summoning sickness the moment Jegantha returns, which is the only reason the loop doesn't stall — without it, Jegantha can't tap until the following turn.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Lightning Greaves is attached to Jegantha.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Jegantha by tapping it, adding {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}.
  2. Activate Ashnod's Altar sacrificing Jegantha, adding {C}{C} Activate Horde of Notions by paying {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}, casting Jegantha from your graveyard without paying its mana cost.
  3. Activate Lightning Greaves' equip ability by paying {0}, attaching it to Jegantha.
  4. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite colorless mana; Infinite ETB; Infinite LTB; Infinite sacrifice triggers; Infinite storm count

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Swiftfoot Boots cannot substitute here because its equip cost is one, which breaks the mana neutrality of the loop. Any death-trigger payoff closes the game — Purphoros, God of the Forge pings the table to zero with each Jegantha ETB, and Zulaport Cutthroat or Blood Artist drain on the sacrifices without needing an extra mana investment.
