Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Aven Mindcensor or Leonin Arbiter can lock opponents out of fetch activations mid-combo but don't substitute for any piece here. The real weak point is Adrix and Nev plus Elspeth both being required to hit exactly four Treasures — losing either halves the token output and breaks the mana neutral line, so a backup doubler like Parallel Lives doesn't save it because it doesn't add the extra token Elspeth contributes. The combo wins only by decking; pair Thassa's Oracle or Teferi's Puzzle Box as a secondary closer if opponents consistently float mana to pay the Smothering Tithe trigger.
