Wormfang Drake card art
Wormfang Drake enters, exiles one of your permanents, and gives you a 3/4 flying body — then when it leaves, you get that permanent back. The catch writes itself: you're paying three mana and a temporary resource for a beater that punishes you if it gets removed before you can blink it out, making it a build-around piece rather than a free inclusion. In Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward shells and similar flicker engines, that exile clause flips from liability to engine fuel.

Wormfang Drake is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, and sees essentially zero competitive play in Legacy or Vintage — a 3/4 flier with a symmetrical-ish drawback doesn't clear the bar where every card needs to win the game or protect the win. Pauper is its most plausible non-Commander home, where a evasive three-drop body is at least on-curve, though the exile trigger still demands either a flicker outlet or something you want to exile temporarily. Commander is where Wormfang Drake actually has a job: flicker and blink decks can abuse the enter-and-leave triggers repeatedly, turning the "drawback" into a repeatable exile-and-return loop.

Price Context

Current price

$0.09 bulk tier

At $0.09, Wormfang Drake is deep bulk — the price of a card that sees almost no demand outside narrow combo contexts. It holds that floor fine; there's no pressure pushing it up, but there's no reason it drops further either.
