In Modern and Pioneer, you're not guaranteed three Vampires in play on the turns you need mana most, and a land that enters tapped and might produce colorless anyway has no competitive home in those formats. Legacy has enough Vampire synergy in niche tribal builds but nothing competitive enough to reach for this over duals or fetches.
