Vampire Soulcaller reanimates any creature from your graveyard when it enters — that's a two-for-one stapled to a 2/2 body for five mana. The cost is real: five mana is crowded space, the reanimation target has to be in your graveyard already, and the Soulcaller dying ends the loan.

In Commander, Vampire Soulcaller competes in a format where five-mana reanimation has a high bar — Karmic Guide and Reveillark do similar work at lower or comparable cost with more resilience. It slots most naturally into Vampire tribal lists helmed by commanders like Edgar Markov or Clavileño, First of the Blessed, where the tribal synergies justify running a less efficient reanimator. Outside of tribal, the card rarely earns its slot — dedicated reanimator builds have faster, cheaper options, and goodstuff black decks cut it immediately. In 60-card formats, Vampire Soulcaller is too slow and conditional to see meaningful play.

Price Context
Current price
$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Vampire Soulcaller is deep bulk — you're paying for the cardboard, not any market demand. That price is stable in the sense that it has nowhere lower to go, not because the card is undervalued.
