Twinferno copies a target instant or sorcery and lets you choose new targets for the copy — two triggers, two damage spells, two tutors, for two mana at instant speed. Commanders like Errant, Street Artist and Riku of Many Paths already want to copy spells repeatedly, and Twinferno slides into those engines as one of the cheapest ways to do it.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Riku of Many Paths
Riku of Many Paths copies noncreature spells as a core identity, and Twinferno stacks directly on top of that — casting it while Riku's ability is active means a single instant or sorcery becomes three copies for a modest total investment.

The Howling Abomination
The Howling Abomination cares about instants and sorceries leaving the graveyard and going to exile, so Twinferno doubling a key spell in that chain pushes the trigger count and fuels the engine faster.

Ashling, Flame Dancer
Ashling, Flame Dancer puts a +1/+1 counter on herself whenever a noncreature spell is cast, so Twinferno effectively counts as an additional spell cast in the same turn and pushes her to lethal power faster.

Magar of the Magic Strings
Magar of the Magic Strings converts instants and sorceries into creature tokens that can later recast those spells, and Twinferno copying a high-value spell before Magar imprints it means you extract maximum value before the card changes zones.
Ral, Monsoon Mage
Ral, Monsoon Mage rewards casting multiple instants and sorceries in sequence to advance his flip condition, and Twinferno acts as a cheap spell that also generates an additional copy trigger to accelerate that count.

Commander is where Twinferno earns its keep — the singleton format rewards cheap, flexible spell-copy effects, and two mana at instant speed to duplicate a removal spell, wheel, or combo piece is a strong rate. In competitive Legacy and Vintage shells, Twinferno faces stiff competition from free or cheaper copy effects and rarely makes the cut outside of fringe spellslinger builds. Modern and Pioneer are similar: the effect is real, but dedicated copy-spell archetypes in those formats tend to want more consistent or redundant pieces than a one-of instant can provide. Twinferno is a Commander card through and through — the format's multiplayer dynamics and longer games give it the most room to matter.

$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Twinferno sits firmly in bulk territory — easy to acquire and easy to slot into any spellslinger build without a second thought. Bulk rares with niche but genuine Commander demand tend to stay in this price band, so don't expect movement unless a breakout combo deck puts it in the spotlight.
