Through the Breach card art
Through the Breach puts any creature into play swinging immediately — no mana cost, no summoning sickness, just damage on the stack before the turn ends. Five mana is the entire price, and Rootha, Mercurial Artist can copy the spell to do it twice.

Commander is Through the Breach's best home — cheating an Emrakul or Blightsteel Colossus into a lethal attack on turn four ends games before opponents can respond. In Legacy, it competes in dedicated Reanimator and Show and Tell shells where the redundancy matters, though it's slower than the format's fastest lines. Modern sees it in Amulet Titan and dedicated Breach builds as a legitimate finisher, particularly alongside Griselbrand. Vintage has faster and more broken options, so Through the Breach sits on the fringe there.

Price Context

Current price

$1.81 cheap tier

At $1.81, Through the Breach is dramatically underpriced for what it does — a clean five-mana one-shot game-ender in Commander. Budget isn't a reason to leave it out of any red deck that wants to cheat fatties into play.
