Task Force becomes arbitrarily large for free the moment you pair it with Outrider en-Kor — redirect infinite damage prevention to it and it ends the game as a one-shot attacker. The two-mana body is irrelevant; the combo ceiling is the entire reason Task Force exists in any deck.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Task Force actually sees play, slotting into white combo decks that can assemble the en-Kor redirect loop and push lethal damage through in a single swing. Pauper is the only other format worth noting — it's legal there, though the combo pieces it needs are scattered across rarities that limit the engine's consistency in that context. Legacy and Vintage are technically legal but Task Force has never been a consideration in either format; the combo is too slow and too fragile against interaction at those power levels.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Task Force is pure bulk — a combo piece that never attracted speculator attention because the decks running it are niche enough to keep demand flat. It's a safe pickup at this price; nothing about its role is changing.
