Sunscour card art
Sunscour wipes the board for zero mana — the catch is exiling two white cards from your hand instead of paying six. That's a real cost, but in white decks with redundant wraths or hand-refill engines, it's the fastest unconditional reset in the color.

Commander is where Sunscour earns its slot — white decks that flood their hands via Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe payoffs, or commanders that draw multiple cards per turn can absorb the pitch cost without falling behind on resources. In Legacy and Vintage, the competition from Terminus, Wrath of God, and Toxic Deluge is fierce enough that Sunscour rarely makes the cut outside of dedicated pitch-spell builds. Modern has access to the same faster alternatives, and the exile-two-cards cost is prohibitive in a format where every card needs to pull weight. Sunscour is a Commander card through and through — the longer games and larger hand sizes make the alternate cost feel like a discount rather than a disaster.

Price Context

Current price

$3.36 cheap tier

At $3.36, Sunscour sits in the budget-wrath tier — cheap for what it does, and the price reflects that it's a niche role-player rather than a staple. It's unlikely to spike unless a white draw-engine commander pushes pitch-cost wraths into the mainstream, so buying in now is fine without any urgency.
