Terminus card art
Terminus puts every creature on the bottom of its owner's library — no graveyard triggers, no death triggers, no comebacks — for six mana at instant speed, or free when you miracle it off the top. Aminatou, Veil Piercer decks run it at an absurd 63% inclusion rate because manipulating the top of your library turns that miracle into a repeatable reset button.

Aminatou, Veil Piercer

Aminatou, Veil Piercer

63.2% of decks · synergy 0.59

Aminatou, Veil Piercer's ability to scry and reorder the top of your library makes Terminus a reliable miracle rather than a lucky topdeck, and putting every threat under libraries instead of into graveyards lines up perfectly with her strategy of blanking death-trigger and graveyard-based opponents.

02
Aminatou, the Fateshifter

Aminatou, the Fateshifter

42.5% of decks · synergy 0.39

Aminatou, the Fateshifter's minus ability to blink permanents and reorder the top of your library gives Terminus near-consistent miracle availability, letting you hold up six mana only when you can't set it up — otherwise it's free.

03
Elminster

Elminster

35.0% of decks · synergy 0.33

Elminster's scry-heavy ability stack means Terminus sits on top of your library exactly when you need a board reset, turning a conditional six-mana sorcery into a free instant-speed answer on demand.

Format Analysis

In Commander, Terminus earns its slot over Wrath of God and Day of Judgment in any deck that manipulates the top of its library — miracle makes it free, and the bottom-of-library clause shuts down aristocrats, reanimator, and any commander with a death trigger. In Legacy, it's a control staple specifically because miracling it off a Brainstorm or Ponder leaves opponents with no recourse: no flashback, no unearth, no graveyard recursion. Modern can run it but rarely does, since the format's threat density rewards cheaper wraths and the miracle setup is less consistent without Legacy-level cantrips. Vintage has access to better options, so Terminus is fringe there.

Price Context

Current price

$0.49 bulk tier

At $0.49, Terminus is bulk despite being a format-defining reset in Legacy and a staple in top-of-library Commander builds — reprint volume has kept it accessible. It's a firm buy at this price for any deck that can set up miracles; the effect is not replaceable at any cost.
