Spire of Industry card art
Spire of Industry taps for colorless freely and unlocks any color the moment you control an artifact — which in any artifact-heavy Commander deck is effectively turn one. The cost is real but narrow: artifact-light builds get a worse Wastes, so Saheeli, Radiant Creator and her kin snap it up while midrange goodstuff decks leave it on the shelf.

01
Saheeli, Radiant Creator

Saheeli, Radiant Creator

66.3% of decks · synergy 0.63

Saheeli, Radiant Creator runs a dense artifact package by design, so Spire of Industry comes online immediately and supplies whatever pip the mana base is short on for her activated abilities and support spells.

02
Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER

Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER

65.5% of decks · synergy 0.60

Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER cares about Equipment and artifact synergies, meaning Spire of Industry reliably produces colored mana from the first few turns and never sits as a dead colorless source.

03
Inspirit, Flagship Vessel

Inspirit, Flagship Vessel

67.4% of decks · synergy 0.54

Inspirit, Flagship Vessel builds around a Vehicle-heavy board, and Spire of Industry turns that artifact density into a flexible rainbow land that pulls its weight in a multicolor crew shell.

Urza, Chief Artificer

Urza, Chief Artificer

58.1% of decks · synergy 0.50

Urza, Chief Artificer's artifact-token generation guarantees Spire of Industry flips to full WUBRG fixing almost instantly, making it one of the cleanest utility lands in the 99.

Morska, Undersea Sleuth

Morska, Undersea Sleuth

52.3% of decks · synergy 0.50

Morska, Undersea Sleuth leans on clue tokens and artifact synergies, giving Spire of Industry consistent activation while stretching a blue-heavy mana base into off-color splash territory.

oathbreaker

In Commander, Spire of Industry is a staple for any artifact-matters deck — the condition is trivially met, and five-color fixing off a single land is the kind of upside that justifies near-universal inclusion in those shells. In Modern and Pioneer, it sees play in Affinity-style and artifact aggro strategies where the artifact clause resolves on turn one and the pain is negligible against the speed of the deck. Legacy has enough superior fixing that Spire of Industry rarely makes the cut outside niche artifact lists. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander's calculus: artifact-dense builds want it, everything else ignores it.
