In Commander, Speaker of the Heavens overperforms its mana cost in any white deck built around life gain or Angels — the combination of lifelink, vigilance, and a repeatable token ability on a one-drop is genuinely rare. In Modern and Pioneer, it sees fringe play in white weenie and lifegain strategies, though the sorcery-speed tap restriction and the 27-life threshold make it too slow for a format where opponents die before that condition becomes easy to maintain. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more explosive one-drops, so Speaker of the Heavens doesn't register there competitively. Commander is where it lives.
