Skeletal Changeling is a self-regenerating Skeleton that counts as every creature type simultaneously — the second half is the whole reason it exists. The activation cost is real, but in tribal decks that care about type overlap, it earns its slot cleanly.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Skeletal Changeling earns its place in any tribal deck that rewards stacking creature types — Horde of Notions, Morophon, the Boundless, and lord-heavy builds all get mileage from a permanent that is every tribe at once. In Pauper it's legal but rarely played, since common-level tribal support is thin and the regeneration cost competes poorly with faster threats. Legacy and Vintage have it legal in name only — the effect is too slow and narrow for those formats' pace. The honest home for Skeletal Changeling is Commander, and specifically the subset of Commander that leans hard on tribal synergies.

Price Context
Current price
$0.36 bulk tier
At $0.36, Skeletal Changeling is deep bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a card with a genuine niche. Bulk tribal enablers like this tend to stay flat unless a high-profile Commander precon pushes demand, so don't expect movement in either direction.
