Silkwrap exiles a nonland permanent with mana value 3 or less for two mana — clean, instant-free removal that dodges regeneration and indestructible, at the cost of giving your opponent a path to reclaim it if the enchantment leaves the battlefield. It's efficient for its slot but narrow, and in Commander that ceiling of 3 or less cuts out most of what actually needs answering.

In Commander, Silkwrap sits in the awkward tier of removal that looks clean on paper but underperforms at a table where threats regularly cost five or more mana — the mana value cap is a hard wall that lets commanders and most value engines walk right past it. In Pioneer and Modern, where the curve is lower and two-mana interaction is at a premium, Silkwrap is more viable but still competes against unconditional options like Ossification and Banishing Light that don't have the same ceiling. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for an enchantment-based answer with a vulnerability built in. Silkwrap finds its best home in aggressive white sideboards or enchantress shells that can convert the enchantment type into incidental value.
