Silent Gravestone shuts off all graveyard targeting for one mana at instant speed — opponents can't reanimate, flashback, or fetch from yards while it's on board, and the activated ability lets you exile the whole pile whenever you want. The catch is that your own graveyard interaction gets locked out too, so it slots cleanly into decks that either ignore the yard entirely or run it alongside something like Immortal Coil where the exile outlet is the point.

In Commander, Silent Gravestone is a cheap, repeatable answer to graveyard-centric strategies — it blankets the table, not just one opponent, which makes it punch well above its mana cost in pods where reanimator or recursion loops are common threats. It's legal in Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, and Vintage, but dedicated graveyard hate in those formats usually comes in faster or more one-sided packages like Rest in Peace or Surgical Extraction, so Silent Gravestone sees essentially no competitive play there. Commander is where it actually earns a slot.
