Serendib Djinn puts a 5/6 flying body on the board for three mana — one of the most efficient blue creatures ever printed — but it mills you for a land at your upkeep and destroys itself if you can't pay. In any shell that wants to donate it, most notably Jon Irenicus, Shattered One, the drawback becomes the entire point.

In Commander, Serendib Djinn is a niche piece rather than a staple — its self-mill clause is a liability in fair decks but a feature in gift strategies that weaponize upkeep costs against opponents. Legacy is the only competitive format where it's legal and theoretically relevant, though a 5/6 for three with a punishing drawback hasn't found a home in a format that has access to far cleaner threats. Vintage is the same story: legal but ignored. Serendib Djinn is essentially a Commander card now, and specifically a narrow one at that.

Pricing data for Serendib Djinn isn't currently available, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the latest. Given its narrow application — nearly exclusive to donate and gift-themed Commander builds — demand is low and copies tend to sit at budget prices outside of older print runs.
