Run Over card art
Run Over destroys a creature or planeswalker and mills three cards off the top — two effects on one card for three mana at instant speed. Balthier and Fran decks snap this up because the mill fuels graveyard synergies while the removal keeps the board manageable, and at bulk pricing there's no reason to reach for a worse option.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Balthier and Fran

Balthier and Fran

38.8% of decks · synergy 0.38

Balthier and Fran cares about cards entering the graveyard from the library, so Run Over pulls double duty — it clears a blocker while simultaneously milling three cards that can be recurred or otherwise exploited by the engine.

02
Samut, the Driving Force

Samut, the Driving Force

10.5% of decks · synergy 0.10

Samut, the Driving Force runs aggressive creature-heavy lines where any instant-speed removal that keeps the board clear is welcome, and Run Over's incidental mill adds a secondary payoff that pure removal spells don't provide.

In Commander, Run Over earns its slot in any deck that wants graveyard fuel alongside interaction — the mill-three rider is a real bonus, not flavor text, and instant speed matters when you're passing priority at a four-player table. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, three mana for a removal spell is a steep ask when Fatal Push and Leyline Binding exist; Run Over won't see serious play there. Pauper is the most interesting non-Commander home — the card pool is narrower, three-mana removal is more competitive at common, and any graveyard-matters deck in the format should at least consider it.

Price Context

Current price

$0.10 bulk tier

Run Over is firmly bulk at $0.10, which means you're paying almost nothing for a two-for-one effect. Bulk commons rarely spike unless they land in a tournament-defining deck, so don't expect movement — just pick up copies while they're free.
