Reality Acid card art
Reality Acid destroys any permanent — land, planeswalker, enchantment, whatever — when it leaves the battlefield, and in blink shells it leaves every turn. The catch is the three-turn countdown in slower builds, but pair it with Brago, King Eternal and that clock never runs out.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Brago, King Eternal

Brago, King Eternal

49.4% of decks · synergy 0.46

Brago, King Eternal blinks Reality Acid on every attack trigger, resetting the vanishing counters before they expire and forcing an opponent to sacrifice a permanent each combat step. It's the single most efficient shell for the card — half of all Brago decks run it for exactly this reason.

02
Abdel Adrian, Gorion's WardCandlekeep Sage

Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward // Candlekeep Sage

36.7% of decks · synergy 0.33

Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward // Candlekeep Sage exiles its own permanents as part of the attack trigger, which incidentally bounces Reality Acid and resets it for another forced sacrifice. The interaction requires no additional infrastructure — the commander does the blinking itself.

03
Yorion, Sky Nomad

Yorion, Sky Nomad

34.4% of decks · synergy 0.31

Yorion, Sky Nomad's enters-the-battlefield trigger blinks any number of your own permanents, so one activation of Yorion wipes a board of problematic pieces if you control multiple copies of Reality Acid. The companion tax hurts, but the payoff with Acid is real.

04
Aminatou, the Fateshifter

Aminatou, the Fateshifter

21.6% of decks · synergy 0.21

Aminatou, the Fateshifter's minus ability blinks a permanent you own, which is enough to reset Reality Acid on demand at instant speed. She offers less repetition than Brago but more control over timing, which matters when you need to answer a specific threat immediately.

oathbreaker

Commander is where Reality Acid earns its reputation — blink commanders turn it into a repeating unconditional removal engine that hits permanents no other single enchantment answers cleanly. In Pauper it sees niche play in flicker builds, where the common restriction actually makes its versatility more valuable since clean answers to artifacts and enchantments are scarce at the rarity floor. Legacy and Vintage are theoretically legal homes, but three-turn countdown removal is far too slow for either format's threat density. Reality Acid is a Commander card that happens to have a Pauper application; everywhere else, better options exist.

Price Context

Current price

$0.34 bulk tier

At $0.34, Reality Acid is bulk — easy to pick up as a four-of or stash multiples for different decks without a second thought. The price is stable; it's not trending toward staple territory outside blink Commander lists, so don't expect the floor to move.
